Symptoms of Anxiety in Children

It is normal for children to feel worried or anxious during their first days in a Montessori Preschool in Virginia. Being thrust into a new environment and routine can often bring out these types of responses.

Children respond to feelings of anxiety differently. Yes, it is quite normal for youngsters to dread going to school, but to some, anxiety can greatly affect their thoughts and behaviors, leading to problems with their home, school, and social life.

Maple Lawn Montessori of Manassas Park is striving to make sure that your son/daughter enjoys a safe and comfortable place to learn and explore new interests in our Montessori School in Manassas Park, Virginia. For this mission to work, we will need you – the parent/s and primary caregivers – to help. We are giving you a list of signs that your children suffer from anxiety:

  • Difficulty in concentration
  • Insomnia, or having bad dreams
  • Change in appetite – a significant lack of appetite
  • Being even more clingy than usual
  • Complaints about a tummy ache or feeling sick

If your child is always complaining about not wanting to go to Manassas Park daycare, talk to them about their worries or anxiety and don’t forget to reassure them that you’re always going to have their back.
