If you are thinking about enrolling your child into our Montessori Preschool in Virginia but are unsure if this is the right time or not, we at Maple Lawn Montessori of Manassas Park are here to give you a list of the preschool-readiness signs you should look for:
- Your son/daughter is able to spend time alone.
If your child no longer experiences separation anxiety from being away from you, then this means that they will be able to handle being in a classroom filled with other children their age.
- They are completely potty trained.
This is a common requirement for children before getting into preschool.
- They are able to concentrate on tasks longer.
Children naturally have short attention spans and being able to concentrate on activities for about fifteen to twenty minutes will lessen the possibility of issues arising during classroom activities.
- They are able to interact with other children.
It is important for your child to be able to handle being around new faces here at Montessori School in Manassas Park, Virginia. This makes fights and other issues with peers less likely to happen.
- They are able to complete the school day.
School days are typically longer than what kids are used to and this might make them irritable and make calls for home. Having enough steam to finish an entire school-day will be a good indication of their readiness for preschool.
