Due to the recent COVID-19 outbreak, Maple Lawn Montessori of Manassas Park has closed its doors for the safety of our beloved students. However, just because our Manassas Park daycare is closed, does not mean that we will stop contributing to your child/ren’s education.
We live in a digital era, and it is easy to lose our kids to TV screens, iPads, and cellphones. While these devices certainly distract your children, they limit the physical activity your children engage in, putting a pause to their physical, emotional, and social development.
As a Montessori Preschool in Virginia, we know a thing or two about keeping your child occupied and ensuring continued learning at the same time. Here are fun ways to keep your kids active while in quarantine:
- Hide and seek.
This game forces your child to think of creative and resourceful ways to hide from the seeker.
Kids love to be expressive and showcase their imagination. Play some charades using their favorite cartoon characters, friends, or family members.
- Dance parties.
Blast your favorite tunes and jam it out with your kids. Not only is it fun, but you are also able to get some cardio in.
- Taking walks. Yes, we are safer at home, but we are also encouraged to go out to get fresh air and our dose of vitamin D. Just make sure you’re practicing social distancing rules.
Once the coast is clear, Montessori School in Manassas Park, Virginia will open our doors to welcome your tots again. For now, don’t forget to cherish your quality time with your kids!
